I’ve had such an amazing day helping at a school in Derby!

As part of the scheme, our first 80 hours of footprints time are dedicated to STEM work, so I jumped at the chance to help a local school with an engineering style challenge.

The day was split between Years 3 and 4 in the morning, and Years 5 and 6 in the afternoon.

The challenge was to get the kids to build a moving bridge from K*Nex capable of supporting a drinks can.

Some of the ideas that the kids came up with amazed me, I couldn’t believe the creativity and quality of ideas!

But the best part was seeing the kids having fun, and some of the kids saying that they wanted to be engineers!!
