A message from Deb Muscat at Cumbria Community Foundation
I was just in the process of writing to Lizzie. I am sending her one of our special 10th anniversary annual reviews.
I have to say that having Lizzie over the summer was wonderful. We have been a member of staff short and our workload has increased (credit crunch means more groups are applying for funding).
We agreed that Lizzie would visit some groups that received funding in the first year to get information and pictures, a summary of which has been included in the annual review and the full stories are in our archive files. Because it is our tenth birthday we decided instead of having one big celebration to have lots of parties in the community. We set up a £10k fund and asked groups to apply. Our intention was to support 10 activities around the county. Instead the Grants Committee supported 27. Lizzie became the 10th Anniversary Event Coordinator. Her role included:
Liaising with the groups to get the details of the events and providing them with help with writing press releases and ensuring they had organised a birthday cake and photographer.
Liaising with staff and Trustees to ensure that the CCF representative had all the details of the event, plus local facts and figures to include in their speech.
Assisting writing it all up for the archives and our website.
All the events went smoothly and people, cakes and banners were all in the right place at the right time. We would not have been able to do this without Lizzie.
Best wishes
Debs
